MUSTANG
Michael Gary Adkins was 70 years old when he passed away on Saturday, April 11, due to complica-tions from COVID-19 and primary amyloidosis.

Gary was born January 26, 1950, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. His parents, the late Jack and Virginia Adkins, raised Gary and his siblings--sister, Paula, and two brothers, Jeff and Jackie--in Oklahoma City. After attending Putnam City High School, he went on to graduate from the University of Oklahoma. Gary met and married his wife, Vicki, on August 9, 1979. While they started their family in Dallas, Texas, he would want to reassure you that he remained a Sooner for life.

Everyone who knew Gary knows the person he loved the most was Vicki, his wife and best friend of 42 years. She was the love of his life, and together, they raised five children -- Jennifer, Charlie, Michael, Megan, and Kim.

Gary was a loving husband and father, and a wonderful "Papa" to his four grandsons and two granddaughters. Even during difficult times, he was always quick to make a joke--like the time he sang "Piece of My Heart" shortly before doctors took a biopsy of his heart. He was a horrible singer who was always first up for karaoke, he told ridiculous "dad" jokes, and he loved the Beatles.

For the health and safety of everyone, there will not be a service at this time. However, the family will hold a memorial at a later date.
