A true Diamond Hero who shines bright under any circumstance. Everyone’s friend.

When I first met Bill we were providing Military Honors for a deceased veteran. He walked using a cane to where we were, he placed his cane on the ground, replaced it with a rifle to shoot the 21 Gun salute. He then gave me the rifle and proceeded to the casket to fold the flag. He cared so much about the flag being PERFECT; because in his eyes, the deceased Veteran was deserving of perfection .

I thought to myself, here is a man who continues to serve even after serving his country and being disabled. Nothing stopped our dear friend from serving others. He is a model citizen who all should emulate.

We love, respect and cherish every memory. RIP Brother. With deepest condolences to the family and friends.

Message left by Benny GuerreroIt is with deep regret that we report the passing of our Great Friend, Korean War Veteran US Navy Chief Billy Wright. He was an Active member of the Lubbock VFW and the American Legion. He was an impactful person whose love of God, Country and Family was on full display every time you encountered him. Bill was also a member of American Legion's Honor Guard that performs Military Honors for deceased Veterans across the Plains. Bill passed away 12 April 2020; services are being planned for later this week. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers.

Gone, but never forgotten.
