Tommy Earl Heilig, 74, of Liberty, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at his residence.
Graveside Services, 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Liberty.
Officiating, Rev. Travis Brock.
Tommy was a native of Randolph County, a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher for 40 years, and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion, and he spent his career as a cabinet maker with UltraCraft and Liberty Chair.
He loved the Lord and was always willing to tell others about Him. His favorite verse was "For me to live is Christ, to die is gain" Philippians 1:21. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Leo and Sara Foust Heilig, sisters, Martha Stout, Barbara Jean Hicks, and brother, W.D. Heilig.
Survivors: wife, Connie Swift Heilig, of the home, sons, John Mark Heilig, and wife, Amy, of Liberty, Brian Keith Heilig, and wife, Jennifer, of Staley, sisters, Rebecca Kidd, of Liberty, Betty Jo Frazier, and husband, David, of Ramseur, Brenda Smith, and husband, David, of Greensboro, brothers, Bobby Heilig, of Climax, Billy Heilig, and wife, Patti, of Staley, grandchildren, Lauryn, Cadence, Maggie, and Morgan Heilig, sister-in-law, Bonnie Swift, brother-in-law's, Ondra Stout, Lee Swift, and numerous nieces and nephews..
The body will lie in state from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM, Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Sandy Creek Baptist Church.
