DINGUS/MCCONNELL CONNECTION: George Bush Culbertson was born 16 OCT 1866. He was the son of William Culbertson and Sarah Jane Dingus. Sarah d/o William and Mary Ann "Polly" (Green) Dingus, William s/o Philip and Nancy (McConnell) Dinges/us.

He married Flora Bell Dougherty 18 OCT 1888. She was born 1869, and died 1927.

GEORGE BUSH CULBERTSON, 75, died at his home Monday. A native of Scott County He was a prominent farmer and livestock grower and had taken an active part in church and community affairs.

He is survived by six sons, Guy H. Culbertson of Kingsport, W.H. Culbertson of Suffolk VA, Sam M. Culbertson of Gate City, and Otto C and Onra S Culbertson of Nickelsville; by two daughters, Mrs Martin Stallard of Powers OR, and Mrs Walders Isaacs of Nickelsville; by one brother, Jeptha Culbertson, of Surgoinsville, TN, and by two sisters, Mrs Larue Broadwater of Kingsport and Mrs Nannie Palmer of New York City.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 6 pm at the Methodist Church in Nickelsville, burial will be in the family plot in the church cemetery.
