Obituary for Philip Matson Miller, Sr.

Mr. Philip Matson Miller, Sr., age 89, of Villa Rica, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020. He was born May 2, 1930 in Emory, GA the son of the late Mr. Robert Bunyan Miller and the late Mrs. Nona Cantrell Miller.

Mr. Miller served in the United States Air Force. He worked and retired from Western Electric.

He enjoyed fishing and younger days of camping at Allatoona Lake with his family and community friends. He was a chicken farmer and a horseman.

He was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Villa Rica, a member of Unity Sunday School Class, and sang in the church choir. He was a previous member of Flat Rock Baptist church and member of the Flat Rock Community.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Ruth Kidwell Miller; brothers, Robert Bunyan Miller, Jr. and John James Miller.

He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Miller Jones of Duluth; sons, Mat and Elaine Miller, Jr. of Villa Rica, Myron and Cathy Miller of Carrollton; extended generations.

We are still providing services to our families based on CDC Covid-19 guidelines. Private Graveside services will be conducted. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica.
