On Monday, March 16, at 3:20 p.m., James Edward Nabors, 78, left this world in peace to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Edward, a.k.a. Pea Picker, was born and raised in Bon Secour, Alabama. He later came to Apalachicola where he married and stayed.

Edward was the son of Irving and Idella Nabors and the stepson of Belle Nabors He is survived by six brothers and one sister, all of Bon Secour. He was preceded in death by his brother, formerly of Apalachicola.

He is survived by three children, Dale Nabors and wife Tina, Selena Phipps, and Janet Nabors. Edward has four grandchildren, Jessica Nabors, Christina Nabors, Jackie Jones and Chris Nabors, and five great-grandchildren, Austin and Jayden Davis, Briar Howell, Ja’Kayden Cummings and Ja’Liece Jones.

Edward also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Patricia Lichardello, who is like a fourth child. Through her, he has two more grandchildren: Michael Trest and Desiree Platt, and three great-grandchildren: Kairi and Ryland Trest and Edward’s namesake, Jame Ryan Platt.

A last farewell will be held for Edward on Saturday, April 18, at 1 p.m. at the Magnolia Cemetery.
