Carolyn Cole, age 59 of Lexington, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020. Carolyn Marie Olson was born February 18, 1961 in Purcell, the youngest of three children born to Andrew Louis Olson and Thelma Marie (Parsons) Lewis. She was raised in Lexington and attended school there, graduating with the Bulldog Class of 1979. After receiving her License in Practical Nursing (LPN), Carolyn further her education at East Central University where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and continued to become a Registered Nurse. Carolyn dedicated her life in service to others. She was an excellent nurse and worked at Norman Regional Hospital for 33 years. Carolyn married her soul mate, Robert Cole Sr. They made their home northeast of Lexington where together they raised two sons, Robert Jr. and Matthew. When she wasn’t working, Carolyn enjoyed sewing and scrapbooking, and she never missed an opportunity to curl up with a good book. She was a great cook, and will be forever remembered for her mashed potato casserole and salsa. Carolyn was a faithful member of the Lexington First Baptist Church and she lived her faith every day. She fought a long hard battle with cancer, and throughout it all, she remained positive and full of faith. She was a beacon of hope for many; a wonderful mother, aunt and friend.

Her parents, Andrew and Thelma Olson.
Carolyn is survived by:
Her boys, Robert Cole Jr and wife Brittany of Tulsa and
Matthew Cole of Lexington;
Two brothers, Alvin Olson and wife Chessteen of Lexington and
Carl Olson and wife Diane of Jefferson City, MO and
A host of other family and friends.
Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 16, 2020, at the Lexington Cemetery
