Gracie Mae Davidson, 86, of Gainesville, MO passed away April 10, 2020 at Gainesville Healthcare Center. She was born on June 28, 1933 to Saul and Maggie (Lawson) Strong at Hardenville, MO.
Gracie was a retired cook and homemaker. She attended grade school at Faye and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1951. Gracie and Harold Davidson were united in marriage on July 9, 1951 in Mountain Home, AR. To this union five children were born: Kay, Harold “Bub”, Rosemary, Debbie & Sandra Davidson.
Gracie was a gifted cook and loved cooking for people. She was a diehard Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals fan. She was so excited when the Chiefs won the Super Bowl, she wouldn’t wear anything but her Chiefs sweatshirt for a week. Gracie loved playing solitaire and Bub said she won a lot. But she cheated, he called her on it, and she said, “Well that is the only way you can win.” She kept on winning.
Gracie accepted Christ as her Savior on November 29, 2017.
Gracie is survived by her children, Kay Davidson of Orlando, FL, Bub Davidson of Midway, AR, and Rosemary Dotson of Orlando, FL; her grandchildren, Brandon Davidson, Hillary Dotson and Oliver Dotson; one sister Maxine Luttrel of Gainesville, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Debbie and Sandra; her daughter-in-law Patrice Davidson; and son-in-law, Mark Dotson; brothers Woodrow Strong, Verdon Strong, Herschel Strong, Saul Strong Jr.; and sisters Mary Hensley and Ikie Henderson.
