Corey Kendell Hamilton unexpectedly and tragically passed away at 46-years-old on April 5, 2020, after his lengthy battle with cancer and further complications. During this difficult time of COVID-19, Corey’s family and friends were unable to visit him in his last days. His beloved wife, Christine, was by his side as he passed away peacefully at their home.

Corey was the son of Kendell Hamilton and Karlene (Grimes) Weast. He was born in Wadsworth, OH on June 5, 1973. Corey grew up in Wadsworth and resided in Seville and Orrville, OH. He resided in Ashland, OH with his wife, Christine; five-year old daughter, Alexis (Lexi) and 15-year old step-daughter, Kaylyn. Corey’s eldest daughter, Haley Hamilton is 20-years old and resides in Dalton, OH. He learned before his passing he was going to be a grandfather, which brought him great joy.

Corey married his soulmate and love of his life, Christine, October 6, 2018. She was devoted to his care while battling cancer. Corey loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed gaming, sports, landscaping, spending time outdoors, carpentry and maintenance work. He was a Cleveland Browns, CBJ, Indians, Cavs and OSU fan, which his man cave reflects that with all the sports memorabilia he collected. His mom was his sports buddy during the football season. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Hamilton of Ashland, OH, daughters: Haley Hamilton of Dalton, OH and Alexis (Lexi) Hamilton of Ashland, OH, step-daughter, Kaylyn Ziehm of Ashland, OH; mother, Karlene (Mark) Weast of Doylestown, OH; sister, Crystal (John) Weaver of Seville, OH; niece, Emily Weaver of Seville, OH; nephew, Trevor (Ruth) Thorpe of Holmes County, OH; and his father’s twin brother, uncle Wendell (Fred) Hamilton of Brown City, MI; cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Kendell Hamilton, maternal grandparents Raymond F. Grimes and Patricia (Clark) Grimes and paternal grandparents Roy Jay Hamilton and Bertha (Tackett) Hamilton.

At a later date, his family will be coming together with family and friends in honoring Corey with a Celebration of Life.
