A funeral for Myrtle Mae Kowing of McMinnville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville.
Interment will be in Green Crest Memorial Park, Sheridan.
The funeral home will be open for visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. today and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Kowing died Oct. 20, 2000, in her home. She was 75.
She was born May 26, 1925, in Sheridan, the daughter of Stephen and Cecil Russell Porter Sr. She was raised and educated in Sheridan, Willamina and Grand Ronde.
She and Frank Kowing were married June 15, 1943, in Sheridan.
She lived in Ballston from 1951 to 1958, then moved to McMinnville. She was a homemaker and had been a foster mother to many children. She also was a part-time matron for the sheriff's office.
Mrs. Kowing belonged to Rebekah Lodge 12, McMinnville, and McMinnville Senior Citizens.
Survivors include three sons, Brad Kowing of Dallas, Frank Kowing Jr. of Silver Springs, Md., and Terry Kowing of Renton, Wash.; two daughters, Judith Nesbit of Kelso, Wash., and Nancy Kowing of Pico Rivera, Calif.; two sisters, Etta Hansen of Willamina and Margie Knowlton of Dora; a brother, Birl Porter of Portland; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984; and by three sisters and two brothers.
