Edward was born Oct. 5, 1928, in West Bend to Ambrose G. and Theresa (nee Wilger) Wiedmeyer. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1948-1951. In 1983, Edward and his family moved to Arizona.
Prior to relocating to Arizona, Edward worked as a machinist for 18 years for the Gehl Company. In Arizona, he was employed with the Department of Corrections as a security officer until he retired.
Edward's favorite hobbies were bowling, playing cards and prospecting. He loved to read and listen to polka music. He brought smiles to everyone with whom he shared his crazy jokes and stories.
Edward is survived by: his children, son, Tim Wiedmeyer, of Pima, and daughter, Shari (Tim) Beville, of Phoenix; four grandchildren, Jessica Sprout, of Lancaster, Penn., Virginia (Marco) Garcia, of Safford, and Tabatha and Syrena Wiedmeyer, of Pima; great-grandson, Titus Wiedmeyer; and other family and friends in both Arizona and Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and was the last surviving sibling to his brothers, John, Ray, Paul, Tom, Joe, Henry and Ambrose; and his sister, Ellie.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at 10 a.m. at McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel, 112 E. Main St., Safford.
Services are under the direction of McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
