Mrs. Johnnie Clyde Black, age 94, of Oak Park, died Sunday afternoon April 12, 2020 after an extended illness.

Johnnie was a native and a life-long resident of Oak Park. She worked with Oxford of Vidalia and Federal Pacific. She was also an avid cake baker-decorator and was widely known for her baking talent. She was an active member of Pendleton Springs Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by a son, Larry Kaye Black.

Johnnie is survived by three sons, Joe (Linda) Black of Richmond Hill, Billy Black of Ludowici, and Greg (Ellen) Black of Dallas; two daughters, Janet Layne of Vidalia, and Penny (Freddie) Buxton of Oak Park; a sister, Madie Lee Dickey of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.

A private graveside service will be held at Pendleton Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Gaynor Ridgdill officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. A celebration of life service for the public will be held at Pendleton Springs Baptist Church at a later date.
