Donald 'Robert' Bateman, age 79, of Washington, went to be with the Lord in his heavenly home at 4:29 PM on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Daviess Community Hospital. He was born in Loogootee on June 14, 1942 to Virgil and Virginia Elizabeth (Taylor) Bateman.
Bob was a graduate of Barr-Reeve High School and had retired from Kimball International in Jasper after 45 years in 2003. He loved NASCAR, fishing, hunting and was an avid IU Basketball, and New York Yankees fan. Bob also enjoyed camping and the great outdoors. He always found peace working outside when he had nothing else to do. He was very adored and respected by others, and made friends with anyone.
Bob is survived by his wife, Brenda (Milligan) Bateman; his children, Michael Shane (Michelle) Bateman of Ohio, Robert James Bateman of Jasonville, Monica Brown of Washington, Dustan Bateman of Evansville, Avis Bateman of Nevada, Missouri; grandchildren; Robert Bateman Jr., Kyla Hauf, Dominic Hauf Jacob Brown, and Marissa Bateman; and some great grandchildren; brothers, Joe (Mary) Bateman of Washington, Tony (Marsha) Bateman of Columbus, Bill (Rosemary) Bateman of Ferdinand, Keith Bateman of Washington, John C. Bateman of Tampa Florida, and Gary Bateman of Otwell; sisters, Beverley Bateman of St. Louis, Missouri, Kathy Utzman of Loogootee, Mary Beth Williams of Dale, Karen Ellis of Owensboro and Linda Bateman Loogootee.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeremy Bateman and daughter Sherry Bateman; and a brother, Kevin Bateman.
Private Burial will be held at a later date.
