Born August 8, 1950 in Covington, VA he was the son of the late Clarence Carey McCormick and Sally Booze McCormick of Cherryville.
Steven was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by wife Trudy Windsor McCormick of Greensboro; daughter Shannon C. Murphy of Cherryville; son Steven L. McCormick of Pensacola, Fla; five grandchildren Megan McCormick, Keri Haigler, Rebecca Murphy, Mason McCormick, and Hannah McCormick; and four great grandchildren; and brother Richard McCormick.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
