The Hon. Ivy Gordon-Lennox was the daughter of Colonel Lord Algernon Charles Gordon-Lennox, a younger son of Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, 6th Duke of Richmond, and his wife, Blanche Maynard, the younger full sister of Daisy Greville, Countess of Warwick. She was married on August 12, 1915 to William Cavendish-Bentinck, Marquess of Titchfield, son of the 6th Duke of Portland and his wife Winifred Anna Dallas-Yorke. She became Duchess of Portland when her father-in-law died and her husband inherited his father's titles in 1943.
