Mrs. Howell was born on December 14, 1946 in Martin County to the late Claude Elmer and Emma Manning Jenkins. She had worked with the Martin County School System in food services and was also a homemaker. She also owned along with her husband The Birds Nest Frame Shop. Janice was a member of Cedar Grove Free Will Baptist Church and the Williamston Fire/Rescue Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband James Earl “Bird” Howell.
Survivors include; daughter, Jackie Howell Andrews of Robersonville; son, James C. “Chris” Howell of Williamston; brother, Phillip Jenkins of Fairfax, Va; grandchildren, Lance Howell, Kasie Manning, Walker, Taylor and Tyler Andrews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Barrow and Rev. John Keeter officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening at Walker Funeral Home from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and other times at 1817 W. Main St. Williamston. Memorial Contributions may be made to Cedar Grove FWB Church, 2496 Spring Green Road Williamston, NC 27892.
