Dorothy Frances Thomas Hall, age 89, homemaker and beloved mother of 10, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in Ocala, Florida. She was born September 18, 1919, in Graham, Florida to her parents Madison and Mae Etta Thomas.
Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Hall, Sr., and by one son, Jimmie Ray Hall.
She is survived by nine children. Elouise (G.L.) Lester; Charles (Marilyn) Hall of Waldo; Marilyn (Jack) Womble of Ocala; Janice Hutchins; Freddie (Harold) Goad; Tommie (Julee) Hall, all of Hawthorne; Jean (Ike) Stephenson and Melody (Mike) Gallagher of Keystone Heights; and, Helen (Ronald) Hobbs of Jasper, Florida. She is further survived by 27 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and, 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hall was a lifelong resident of Hawthorne, Florida, and was currently living with her daughter and son-in-law in Ocala, Florida. She was a member of Eden Baptist Church in Hawthorne, Florida, and was active in church activities while living in the community. Mrs. Hall will be remembered fondly by her children as a wonderful mother who made many sacrifices for them. In her community, she will be remembered by many as a caretaker for elderly neighbors throughout the years who needed her assistance.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hall will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 6, at the Eden Baptist Church in Hawthorne. The Rev. Jim Blevins will officiate. Burial will be at the Antioch Cemetery in Island Grove, Florida. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Williams-Thomas Hawthorne Funeral Home, US 301 South at Lake Avenue, on Friday from 5:30PM to 7:00 PM.
