Matthew Lane Clegg, 45, of Columbus, GA died on Wednesday, April 08, 2020.

A private service will be held at a later date with burial at Parkhill Cemetery according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.

Matthew was born April 30, 1974 in Phenix City, AL son of William Joseph “Pete” Clegg and the late Patsy Thomas Kimbrough.

He worked for several local TV stations as a cameraman and was most recently working at WLTZ. Matthew was passionate about his work as a cameraman, even volunteering at St. Luke United Methodist Church. He loved family gatherings always arriving right on time for the occasion. Matthews’ time with us was not long enough, but we know he is now at peace. He will forever be in our hearts and memories.

In addition to his mother, Patsy Kimbrough, Matthew was preceded in death by his step-dad, Jay Kimbrough, step-mom, Sheila Bruhl Clegg; grandparents, B. J. and Vivian Thomas; Boots and Marie Clegg; Pete and Alta Kimbrough; Johnny and Bonnie Bruhl.

Survivors other than his dad, William Pete Clegg, include his brother, Chris Clegg (Brandi); step-brothers, Shannon Dueitt (Angie), Todd Dueitt (Jennifer) and Jeffrey Kimbrough; extended generations.
