Brownie Baker, age 93, died Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

She was born November 27, 1926 in Shelby, MI to Edgar and Amy (Lankfer) Schneider and married Henry Baker on April 1, 1949. He preceded her in death in 2011.

Brownie is survived by her son, Rex (Denise) Baker; her daughter, Judy (John) O'Rourke; a step sister, Veva Herin; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She lived on the same property as her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She always kept her kitchen stocked with ice cream and Diet Coke for everyone. Brownie took her nurses training in the Cadet Core during World War II. She was a pioneer among women by becoming a builder and starting Baker Builders. She also co-owned Homestead Reality. She enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. Every November, she could be found at her deer shack in Oceana county.

She took care of her family until the end and will be missed every day.
