She was born at "Solitude House", the 4th of 8 children of Gen. George W. and Mary King Taylor. Her father was the only Civil War General from Hunterdon Co. and died in 1861 following wounds suffered in 2nd Manassas.(See Taylors in Clinton Pres Ch. Cem.)She married Isaac Alstyne Blauvelt at "Willow Hall", the Taylor home, in Clinton, June 14,1866.
They had 5 children, 3 of whom are buried with them.

She died at their home on Fifth Ave with an illness of several years, after sustaining a fall. "She was greatly esteemed for her many Christian virtues."
