Theodore F. C. Demarest, Attorney and Counselor At Law in New York City, passed away at his home Saturday morning, at 5 :30 o'clock, in Jacobus Avenue. Mr Demarest was born in New Hurley, NY, April 1, 1843, son of the late Rev and Mrs William Cornell Demarest, graduated from Columbia University in 1864; A. M., in 1867; Law School, Columbia College, L. L. B. 1868.

He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a tutor of History and Rhetoric in Columbia College, First Assistant to Commissioner to revise statutes of the State of New York, 1872-78; Reporter for all surrogate courts 1883-88; Judge of Recorder Court, Midland Park Borrough, 1903. Justice of the Peace Mountainview. He is the author of "Hints for Forensic Practice," and "Studies in American Jurisprudence".

Survived by his wife, Mrs Katherine Ford Coffey.

Interment at Highland Mills, NY.
