Carol Kennedy of Monticello, KY departed this life, September 11, 2021 at home. She was born November 28, 1932 in Cincinnati (Norwood) Ohio to parents Norman Theodore (Ted) Kennedy and Elizabeth (Betty) Horton Kennedy who preceded her in death. Her grandmother (Matilda) and Aunt Anita (Netcie) Kennedy and best friend and cousin Ruth Hill also preceded her in death.

She is survived by a sister Suzanne Meiser (daughter of Helen) of Richmond, Indiana; two nieces, Lisa Brueggemann, Shaunna Stann; six nieces and nephews, many family members of Ruth Hill, and her dear friends, and Scott Morrison who Carol loved like a son.

Many loved her and will miss her, especially her long-time friends and care givers, Karen (Jerry) Parmley and family, Carl Ragan, Brenda Ragan Wright and family, Pat (James) Tucker and family, Judy (Ben) Cooper and family, Deleen Kincade and family. Exceptional caregivers.

She loved her church family and gave her time, services, money and many gifts to the Monticello First Christian Church. She was also good to Mill Springs Christian Church and New Charity Baptist Church.

She loved her neighbors. When she was able she was there for them in time of need or just to have fun. Carol made many friends and they became her family.

She and her friend/cousin (Ruth Hill) shared a home since 1969. They loved to travel, boat, fish, and eat out. If they knew you they fed you. They were members of the Wayne Women's Republican Club and Humane Society. Carol volunteered for hospice; she took dogs to nursing homes for the elderly to visit with. She done too many things to count.

All who knew Carol were blessed. She had a heart of gold. She could talk to the old, young, rich, poor, educated or unlearned. She knew about sports, current events, politics, and loved to hear about God's word.

A Graveside Service will be held, Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 1pm at the Elk Spring Cemetery per her request.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to, Monticello First Christian Church, Hospice of Lake Cumberland or Humane Society.
