Sherri Jayne Campbell, 71, was born in Paoli Indiana on February 24, 1949 to Charles Lawrence and Frances (Radcliff) Williams. She joined them and an older sister, Virginia Ann Williams, in Heaven Tuesday April 7, 2020. Coming from a Masonic family, Sherri was very proud of being a 50-year member of Eastern Star and a Past Worthy Matron of Franklin OES.

Sherri loved children and is well remembered by many of those she taught as preschoolers in Indianapolis, fifth graders in New Whiteland, and freshmen at IUPUI. Like many IU Alumni, she was an avid basketball and football fan. Sherri was often seen in her IU gear around her residents at Compass Park (Indiana Masonic Home).

Sherri’s life is lovingly celebrated by her daughter Amanda Jayne Jones (Jerry), grandchildren; Shane Spurgeon, Franklin IN, Karly Snow, DeLand FL, Hailey Shelton and Andrew Shelton, Franklin IN, and 1 Great-Grandchild, Zaden Spurgeon, Indianapolis IN.

Survivors include:

Daughter:

Amanda & Jerry Jones Franklin, Indiana

Brothers:

Charles Lawrence (Larry) Jr. & Gletta Williams Salem, Indiana

Robert “Bob” & Lucy Williams Hardinsburg, Indiana

Sherri is also survived by 4 nephews, 1 niece, and 10 great nephews and nieces.

Sherri’s life is also celebrated by 2 friends of many years, Martha Winn and Sue Koch.

Visitation and funeral services for Sherri have been limited to private family only. Interment will be at Paoli Community Cemetery. Due to the CDC mass gathering recommendation enforced by Indiana Governor, Eric Holcomb, no more than 10 people are allowed in a room at a time. We have made the difficult decision to have the funeral service and visitation be restricted to immediate family only. While this is not our ideal situation, we ask that you understand we are all new at this reaction to the pandemic situation at hand.
