Christine was born, November 22, 1934, in Scott County, VA. She was a lifelong resident of the area and currently resided in Kingsport.
She served beside her late husband, Rev. James Paul Lane in the United Methodist Church for 43 years and was a devoted wife and mother.
Christine was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Rev. James Paul Lane; her parents, James Kenneth Adams and Margaret Elizabeth Martin Adams; her brother, James Tee Adams; her special granddaughter, Lisa Horne Teague; and her son-in-law Danny Harper.
She is survived by her children: Edith L. Horne and husband Bill; Roger W. Lane and wife Earline; Paula L. Meade and husband Rodney; Kathy L. Harper; and Jeannie L. McMeans and husband Mike. Grandchildren: Jason Horne and wife Wendy, Craig Lane and wife Tina, Michael Lane and wife Kathy, Melissa Meade Jones and husband Brad, Kari S. Harper and Kevin Johnson; Michael Paul McMeans and wife Kayla; Christopher McMeans and wife Danielle, Logan McMeans and wife Samantha. Great grandchildren: Mason, Nathan, and Owen Horne; Madeline Lane, Olivia and Ben Lane; Madison Vander Lind, Ella and Amelia Ayers, Ben and Emma Grace Jones; Colton and Kyson McMeans; Kamryn and Cashdan McMeans. Brother: Walter Adams and wife Peggy and son Ronald; Sisters-in-law: Betty Williams and husband Daryl; Shelby McConnell and husband Phil and many special nieces and nephews.
A private entombment service will be held at Oak Hill Mausoleum.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of life will be held at a later date when family and friends can gather safely.
