Enlisted on April 11,1862 at Coles Island in the 25th South Carolina Infantry "Eutaw's Regiment", Company F, Capt. M.H. Sollers Company, St. Matthews Rifles as a Sergeant. Captured by the enemy on January 15, 1865 at Fort Fisher. Sent to Elmira, New York Prison on January 30, 1865. Released February 7, 1865.
