Susan Deborah Kaufmann-Guyer
Born May 7th 1953 In Elmhurst Illinois, She Attended School There And Got Her
College Degree From The University Of Beloit In Wisconsin. When Susan Turned 20
She Got Married And Moved To Switzerland.
At First She Worked As A Translator For A Small Company In The Countryside. A Few
Months After Her Daughter Was Born In 1983, She Moved Back To The US For A Bit Over
A Year. While There She Got A Master Of Arts In Teaching From The School For
International Training, Brattleboro, As Well As A Vermont Teaching Certification.
After Returning To Zurich Switzerland, She Pursued A Career As An English Teacher
Becoming The Head Of The English Teacher’s Department At KV Zurich. She Gave Birth
To Her Son In 1990.
Starting As A Hobby She Began Researching Her Family’s History, Traveling To Historical
Places And Writing Down The Family’s History. Around 2014 She Became Inspired To
Write Otter’s Tale.
The Story Is A Fictitious Tale Of Two Siblings Embedded In A Timeline
Of True Historical Events. For The Research, She Enjoyed Traveling And Exploring New
Places While Discovering More Details To Add To Her Story. In Addition To Her Family’s
History, Her Children And Her Own Life; Her Strong-Willed Granddaughter, Born In 2011
With Whom She Had A Close Bond, With Was Also A Source Of Inspiration.
In 2016 She Was Diagnosed With Cancer. Whilst Fighting The Malignancy She Found
Great Relief In Writing. When The Disease Took A Turn For The Worse She Was
Determined To Finish The Book And Live Long Enough To Meet Her Second
Granddaughter. She Passed Away In December 2017, Two Months After Welcoming
And Holding The Newborn In Her Arms.
With The Publishing Of The Series Otter’s Tale Her Dream Of Being An Author Is Being
Fulfilled.
