Donald was born January 15, 1956 in Scotland County, loving son of Ava Jeanette Stone Strickland and the late D. G. “Pete” Strickland. He worked many years for Service Thread. He enjoyed playing bingo, horseshoes, and listening to Michael Combs gospel music. He was an avid sports fan of the Carolina Panthers, Washington Redskin and UNC Tar Heels. Donald will forever be missed as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.
Along with his father, he is preceded in death by his sister, Terry Strickland.
He leaves behind his mother, Jeanette Strickland of the home; brother, Terry Ray Strickland of Laurinburg and sisters, Vicky McGill (David), Elaine Liles (Danny), all of Laurinburg; his nieces and nephews, Holly Sanderson, Kesha Hood, Wendy Lowery, Tracy McGill, Tara Radford, Sara Wilkerson, Brian Goins, Brandon Strickland and many friends.
