Larry Dillon Cook, 28 years 8 months and 23 days of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, April 8th, 2020 at Fort Carson Colorado.

Dillon was born in Somerset, Kentucky on Tuesday, July 16th, 1991, son of Larry Cook and Nancy Laugherty King. He was of the Baptist faith and a Southwestern High School Graduate. He completed his Associates degree at SCC and then furthered his education at EKU, he was an avid gun collector, and a Sergeant in the United States Army.

Dillon was survived by his parents, Larry Cook of Nancy, Kentucky and Nancy King of Somerset, Kentucky; his loving wife, Kimberley Cook of Fort Carson, Colorado; three sisters, Grace Puckett, Lois (and Curt) West, and Barbara (and James) Clark, all of Nancy, Kentucky; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Eva Lee Cook Artis, who departed this life on February 7th, 2020.

Drive through visitations were held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 1st, 2020 at the Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky. In accordance with COVID19 guidelines, everyone were ask to stay in there vehicle during the drive through visitation. A Memorial service was held at a later date for Dillon.

A private burial followed in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.

1 Thessalonians 4. 16-18

16. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

NOTE: Effective Wednesday, March 18th, 2020, due to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear’s guidelines, all funeral services will be private and limited to only the immediate family because of the treat of the COVID-19 Virus.
