Houston, Texas – Michael Meller, age 60, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at Memorial Hermann Medical Center. Michael's wishes were that his body be donated to UT Health McGovern Medical School for medical research.

Michael was born on March 28, 1960, in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Cooper High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from Rice University and a Master's degree from the University of Houston. His interest in architecture began while in high school where he won first place in a state-wide contest for his design of a solar home. Following this, he entered an international contest for the design of a flood proof vendor kiosk and was invited to Venice, Italy to demonstrate it. He operated his business, MAM Designs in Houston for many years and was well known for his creative designs. He, especially, enjoyed working on projects with his brother, Jack, and his very good friends, Beverly Jacomini and Richard Holly of Houston.

He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his parents, Beverly and Walter Meller of Abilene, Texas; two brothers, Jack of Houston and Walter III of Arlington; his sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Ford Weicht, of Abilene; nephews Jason Meller and wife, Porter, and children Kalen, Cora and Leo of Arlington, Jeffrey Meller and wife, Ashley, and son Conner of Plano; and nieces Courtney Deeb, and husband, Brad, of Wichita Falls, and Kimmie Doss and husband, Joel, and children, A. J., Talyn and Kalani, of Florida.

Michael enjoyed life and served others well throughout his life. He will be missed by his family and friends, who find hope and peace in the knowledge that they will see him again. There will be no viewing and at Michael's request, no service to honor his life is planned. On-line condolences may be made at obit.carnesfuneralhome.com\michael-meller.
