Arnold R Thompson of Marion Michigan, went to be with our Lord on March 6, 2020 in Wheatland, Texas. He was born on May 1st, 1963 in Pontiac, Michigan, one of 7 children to Bruce and Betty Thompson . He is preceded in death by his Father.

Upon Graduating high school in 1982, Arnold explored a few different paths to see where his passion would lie . He enjoyed metal spinning, he received a certificate in welding and he also took photography classes at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan . He found his ultimate passion to be driving the “Big Rig” across the country as an over the road truck driver. He enjoyed driving all over the country and making friends everywhere he went . Arnold knew the roads like the back of his hand and just about every truck stop in America.
Arnold had a way with telling people about his experiences, his jokes, and his opinions . He would always rub the fist of his right hand into the palm of his left hand and he did so with an infectious laugh and smile. He went through a lot of difficult times in his life, but he was always optimistic about the outcome and would always say “Don’t worry” . He loved life and he loved those that were close to him. Arnold had a huge heart and was always doing what he could to make those around him, happy. He enjoyed frequenting the movies, dining out, and in his last few months he found a lot of happiness at the Benbrook café in Texas with the ladies that befriended him and brought some light to his days .
Arnold will be lovingly remembered and missed by his son, Andrew Thompson of Grand Rapids; his daughter, Amanda Thompson of Grand Haven; his mother, Betty Thompson of Granbury, TX, formerly of Marion, MI; his extended Harrisville family in Northern Michigan and many more family and friends .
A celebration of life For Arnold will be later announced with a time, date and location. He will be buried at the Highland Township Cemetery in Michigan .
Keep on truckin’ Arnold!
