Gwendolyn "Gwen" graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1952. She worked as a head office manager for 35 years with Kroger Grocery Store. She was a member of Gamma Gamma Chapter, Kappa Delta Phi, St. Paul Episcopal Church, and the Episcopal Church Women Diocese where she held national and local offices. Whenever the organization had an event she was always first to help out with the fundraising. She was always interested in her community. She loved going to eat after church. She loved traveling all over the U.S., always wanting to go to Hawaii but never made it. She went and visited her older sister everyday.
Survivors include her daughter, Robin Black-Paul of Frankfort; and sister, Patricia Lewis of Gas City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley F. and Willie G. Lewis; husband, Robert Black; and son-in-law, Sydney J. Paul.
Memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
