Bari Lee Allen, 68, of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away, Monday, April 6, 2020 at home where he lived with daughter, Branda Garza (Allen) and her husband, Mark Garza, and their children, Cassidy and Gage.

Bari was born April 15, 1951 in Milan, MO, to John and Vivian Allen (Alexander). He graduated from Grundy R-5 in 1969. After graduating, Bari worked at Smiths Men’s clothing in Trenton. He moved to Excelsior Springs in 1973. He was a fireman for the Excelsior Springs Fire Department from 1973 to 1991.He worked for the City of Excelsior Springs in 1996, he went on to work for the renovation crew at The Elms Hotel & Spa. In 1997, Bari started working in the engineering department at The Elms Hotel & Spa and continued working there until he retired in 2010. Bari did not know a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone he encountered. He loved to tell stories and jokes. He had a huge heart and loved his Family.

Bari will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Sherri Belland (Allen) and his children, Danny Allen, Dana Allen, Branda Garza (Allen) and her husband Mark Garza, Bari Allen and his wife Carlene Allen (Kelley), Thomesa Thomas, Rheanna Mayshark (Allen) and her husband Dallas Mayshark, Lilly Paynter (Allen) and her husband Patrick Paynter. Bari will also be fondly remembered by his12 grandchildren, McKenzie Robinson, Lauren Placher, Spencer Allen, Alexandra Allen, Cassidy Garza, Gage Garza, Dillon Allen, Jaysea Allen, Candice Allen, Aubrey Allen, Kristiana Thomas, and Alison Sheets; great-grand child, Owen Viratos; and sister-in-law, Sallie Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vivian; brother, Gene Allen; and nephew, Neil Allen.

A celebration of life service will be held at a future date and time will be announced.
