R. L. “Slick” Crawford, 87, of Harrisburg passed from this life April 7, 2020 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born in Cherry Valley, Arkansas December 1, 1932, the son of William Ivy Sr. and Rosalee (Rooks) Crawford. Slick married Tommy Lynn Couch on September 10, 1966 and they have enjoyed fifty-three years of marriage. Slick was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: W. I. Crawford Jr., Evan Crawford, Gerald Crawford, and Rodney Crawford, two sisters: Josephine Edwards and Essie Arnold Robinson. He loved working with his cows and riding his cutting horses. Slick won several awards with his horses. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the many trips he took across the United States with his friends. Slick loved being around people, telling stories, and laughing just enjoying life. Some years back Slick saw a need for a nursing home in Harrisburg and with some friends, two years later Woodbriar Nursing Home became a reality. He is survived by his wife, Tommy Lynn (Couch) Crawford of the home in Harrisburg, two sons: Randy Crawford and Keith (Vickie) Morris both of Harrisburg, two brothers: Donnie (Carolyn) Crawford of Harrisburg and Sidney (Pat) Crawford of Jonesboro, two sisters: Francis Emmons of Union City, Missouri and Nona (Robert) Bonham of Jonesboro, two granddaughters: Bridgette (Darryl) Loggains and Jennifer Morris, three great-grandchildren: Ryce and Heather Loggains and Adalee Mink, and a special friend, Eddie Thompson. A Private Graveside services will be held at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Bro Tim Jarrett and Bro. Tim Hale will conduct the service
