JERI'S OBITUARY
Jeri Janice Smith Green, 70, of Indianola, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020, at South Sunflower County Hospital.
Janice was born December 13, 1949, in Merigold, to John Joseph Smith and Gladys Winters Smith. She was a childcare worker for many years. Janice loved animals and would always take them into her home. She also enjoyed reading. Janice was a member of Indianola Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Gladys Smith and four brothers, Marion Thomas “Popcorn” Smith, John Breland Smith, Joseph Eugene Smith, and George Robert Smith.
Janice is survived by two brothers, Billy Joe Smith of Indianola, and William Curtis Smith and his wife Joyce of Shaw; two sisters, Alma Laverne Griffin of Colorado, and Betty Delores Nelson and her husband Steve of Gulfport; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Monday, April 13, 2020, at Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
