Ringgold Man Dies at Home After Illness
Hamilton Wilson, 74-year-old retired merchant of Ringgold, died at his home yesterday afternoon following a brief illness. ; He was a lifetime resident of north Louisiana, having operated a store at Plain Dealing for many years. Wilson retired in 1943 when he moved to Ringgold. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at the Osborn chapel. The Rev. R. M. Walker, pastor of the Ringgold Methodist church, will officiate at the services and will be assisted by the Rev. W. S. McCullen, pastor of the Ringgold Baptist church, and the Rev. Louis Hoffpaiur, of Ruston. Burial will be in Forest Park cemetery.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Beulah B. Wilson of Ringgold; four daughters, Mrs. W. E. Fine of Homer, Mrs. Harold Montgomery of Haughton, Mrs. H. L. Eason of Bossier City and Mrs. G. L. Nesom of Bonita; four sons, H. P. Wilson of Hosston, J. W. Wilson of Marksville, D. C. Wilson of Vivian and R. D. Wilson of Ringgold; his step-mother, Mrs. Josie Wilson of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. J. H. Holomon of Minden; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be E. A. Wilkerson, R. T. Murphy, J. Moss Thurman, all of Shreveport; Dugan Wilson, W. J. Culpepper and O. D. Jones, all of Ringgold, and Harold Wheeler and Arthur Phillips, both of Plain Dealing.
