Janet L. Lane, age 66, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away at 12:05 P.M. on Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Defiance Regional Medical Center. Janet was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Napoleon. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Filling Home in Napoleon and in adult care in a group home in Napoleon. Janet enjoyed arts and crafts, working outdoors and especially gardening.

Janet was born on April 10, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Benjamin F. and Dorothy (Marshall) Doremus. She is survived by her children, Lisa Tolles, of Defiance, James Valentine, of Bryan, Philip (Becky) Valentine, of Campton, Kentucky, Michael Lane, of Defiance and Penny Lane, of Defiance; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Arnold, of Toledo and half siblings, Erin, Colleen, Faye, James and Blake. She was preceded in death by her parents, a great granddaughter and nine brothers and sisters.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, graveside services officiated by Pastor Gary Malone and interment in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance will be private.

Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, has been entrusted with arrangements.
