He is a 1974 Graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL and had worked as a welder for construction. He married Cathy Hoffman, on April 29, 2013, in Panama, IL and she survives in Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Compton was a member of the Hillsbhoro Country Club in Hillsboro, IL and had lived in Decatur, IL; Augusta, GA; Southern IL and Hillsboro, IL.
Mr. Compton is survived by his mother, Wanda Compton of Hillsboro, IL; his wife, Cathy Compton of Hillsboro, IL; one daughter, Brandy Rae Compton of Coffeen, IL; one brother, Richard “Dick” (wife, Ida) Compton of Hillsboro, IL and two sisters, Kay (husband, Bill) Hefley of Hillsboro, IL & Barbara (husband, Jim) Mack of Barnhart, MO. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Compton.
