Benoit was born March 30, 1945, near Florence, SC in the Cusaac Crossroads community. He was a man that found comfort in the knowledge that his life was the beginning of an eternal life. He was the son of the late Raymond D. and Lucy Hancock. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner where he taught Sunday School for various groups through the years. He enjoyed and was quite proficient in martial arts. He was an avid Power Lifter, owning and operating the Madd Dogg Gym for many years. Through lifting, training and weight lifting competitions he enjoyed friendships that have spanned decades. In late years he thoroughly enjoyed genealogical research having traced many families as far as records provided. Through all of this he still found countless hours to help his son with numerous home improvement and farming projects. As a result, his son will never be able to hire any home improvement work that meets his Daddy’s standards.
Surviving are his son Alexander C. Hancock (Angie), his grandchildren Joshua Ryan Howle, Emilee McKenzie Hancock and his “adopted” daughter Summer Davis, all of whom he loved very much. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner. Benoit’s end of life services will be provided by Dial-Murray Funeral Home.
