Mike Garrett
Mike Gene “Red” Garrett, 61, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020, at his home. He was born Nov. 26, 1958, at Hillcrest Hospital in Oklahoma City to Wesley “Buck” Claude and Leah Jean (Roberts) Garrett.

He moved to Union City from Moore when he was in sixth grade, where he resided until his death.

Mike married Pauline Sue Bosler on April 15, 1978, in Union City.

He took over his dad’s cooling tower business in 1999, retiring in 2013.

Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. Each year it was a competition to see who could shoot the biggest buck or catch the most fish. Garrett usually won, but Papa holds the record from 1984 with the biggest one mounted on the wall. His biggest joy was his grandkids. They made him laugh and filled his heart with love.

Several years ago, Mike was a member of the Union City Volunteer Fire Department and Lions Club.

Mike enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play their sports.

Mike is survived by his wife, Pauline Sue Garrett of the home; daughter, Amanda Lee Johnson and husband, Jacob of Yukon; son, Otto Claude Garrett and wife, Rondalyn of Union City; three grandchildren, Garrett Johnson, Berkley Johnson and Aubree Garrett; sister, Lavona Ninman and husband, Gary of Bridgecreek; and brother, Wesley Garrett of Union City.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
