Born in Dumont, Minnesota on October 20, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph Fridgen, Jr. and Anna Mary Bauer Fridgen.
Helen was a medical technologist trained in both laboratory and x-ray at the Northwest Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota and worked as such for thirty years, working most of those years at the former Monongahela Hospital and then retiring from Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was a member of the Church of Saint Anne.
Helen is survived by her daughters-in-law, Joanne Lynch of Indiana, Pennsylvania and Kathleen M. Lynch of Brookville, Pennsylvania; granddaughters, Christine Hoffman, Jennifer Lynch, Jennifer Lieb and Melissa Lynch; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Rory and Taryn Hoffman and Allison Lieb.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Minor Gibson Lynch, Jr., whom she married on November 29, 1940; sons, David Lynch and William Lynch; brothers, Francis, Arthur James, Raymond Anthony, Donald John and Gerald Henry; and her sister, Eleanor Agnes Perry.
A Private Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church of Saint Anne in Rostraver Township with the Reverend David J. Nazimek presiding.
Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
