Jesse “Jack” Harris, Sr., 83, of Greenville, passed away on March 24th, after a brief illness.
A private graveside service will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Greenville, NC on Friday, March 27th at 11AM.
Jack was born on January 19, 1937 in Greenville, NC to Floyd and Etha Harris. He was self-employed most of his life with businesses ranging from automotive repair, service stations, construction, and most recently logging. He taught many people the importance of hard and honest work. He enjoyed pier fishing at the coast, gardening, and watching wrestling.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Preston Harris, Sr., mother, Etha Bullock Harris, step-mother, Eva Craven Harris, and a daughter, Joy Harris Hudson.
He leaves behind a daughter, Sandie Harris Stargardt, a son, Jesse Harris, Jr. and wife, Amy. Six grandchildren, Miranda, Justin, Courtney and husband, Marc, Abbigail, Josh, and Jadyn, and one great granddaughter, Amelia, brothers Bobby, and wife Sandra, Preston, and Tommy Harris.
The family will not have a time of formal visitation, those wishing to pay their respects may do so online.
