Cynthia “Cindy” Sue Cox, 68, Lawson, Mo., passed away April 5, 2020 at her home.

Cindy was born August 18, 1951 to Robert and Betty Sue Barnes in Kansas City, Kans. She married Jack Cox on May 1, 1970. Jack and Cindy moved to Lawson in 1980 to raise their 4 children. After Jack retired, he and Cindy purchased the Lawson Tavern, later changing the name to Papa J’s. They owned the bar for 10 years before selling due to health issues. Cindy was a member of Xi Mu Beta Sorority. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Reba McCormick.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; daughter, Kari Cox; sons, Robert (Hollie) Cox, Aaron (Angel) Cox, and Bryan (Jami) Cox; grandchildren, Drake (Missy) Liberty, Brandon (Katelynn) Liberty, Breanna Liberty, Samuel Huffman, Michael Melichar, Mason, Ryan Cox, Autumn (Christian) Clark, Steven Stalder, Aiden Cox, Brooke, Aubrey, Bobby, and Johnny Cox; brother, Robert (Julie) Barnes; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
