Lone Grove - Private services are scheduled for Mr. Michael Leon Hammett, 44 at Newport Cemetery north of Lone Grove with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Services are under the care and direction ofAlexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Michael was born on January 14, 1976 in Ardmore to Mr. Harvey Leon Hammett and Mrs. Janice Lynn (Brecheen) Hammett. He departed from this life on Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Ada.

Michael was raised at Ardmore attending most of his school years at Lone Grove attending Vo-Tech, where he studied electricity. Thereafter, heo attended college at the Ardmore Higher Education center and soon began his journeyman's electrician career working for Lynn Boyers, Quality Electric and Ramsey's. Later he gained employment with OG&E, initaill reading meters in the Norman area. He worked within the Oklahoma City area for 10 years before transferring to the Seminole OG&E Plant Warehouse. Their Michael was a logistical manager and loved all of his OG&E family. He was always an avid fisherman who had ahuge heart, caring for all of his family.

Preceding him in death is his father, Leon Hammett in December of 2010; grandparents, Georgia and Barrem Hammett and Wilson and Mamie Brecheen.

Michael is survived by his mother, Janice Hammett of the home; sisters, Carrie McReynolds and husband Don of Lone Grove and Danielle Matthews and husband Charlie of Marfa, TX; brother, Matthew Hammett of the home; nephew, Dustin McReynolds of Lone Grove; aunts and uncles, Mamie LaRoche, Joe Brecheen, Linda Keck, Joyce Skelton, Loyce Freeman, John Brecheen and Theresa Barton; numerous cousins and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Steve Ramsey, Joel Madden, Donnie Deatherage, Tim Coffey, Reggie Sanders and Daryl Jay.

Viewing will be from 9 to 8pm Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
