Travis Leonard Wood, 54 of Pleasant Plains died Sunday, April 5, 2020 at his home. He was born May 11, 1965 in Batesville, Arkansas to Leonard and Brenda Vaughn Wood.

He worked many years as parts store manager for Arkansas Kenworth and was currently employed in parts sales with Bobcat of Independence County. He was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasant Plains where he served as a deacon. Travis was a loving husband, father and grandfather (Pop). He was a parts store manager who was loved by all his co-workers. He was described as faithful, Godly, humble and a great gentle man who was always thankful and happy. He was highly respected and admired. He was a father figure and second dad to many kids who weren’t blessed to have a Godly example in their lives. He enjoyed nothing more than working on his farm with his family and serving the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester and Zella Wood and Lamar and Bonnie Vaughn.

Survivors include his high school sweetheart and wife of 36 years, Michele Wilson Wood of the home; two sons, Jacob Wood (Lauren) of Conway and Seth Wood of Pleasant Plains; two brothers, Brent Wood (Kim) of Heber Springs and Bradley Wood (Teresa) of Judsonia; one sister, Fayla Wood of Pleasant Plains; one granddaughter, Leighton Wood of Conway; his father and mother-in-law, Doug and Carolyn Wilson of Pleasant Plains and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services conducted Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Cemetery near Floral with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

Pallbearers: Kenny Staggs, Mark Carpenter, Jeremy Banks, Eddie Todd, Mike Todd and Michael Allgood.

Honorary pallbearers: Tim Ramsey, Wyatt Hodges, Keith Crutcher, Matt Turner, Steve Merritt, Casey Wood, Nathan Wood and Steve Ray.

Covid 19 social distancing guidelines will be observed.
