Leo was born April 18, 1938, in Springfield, the son of Cotton and Martha Servance Evans. He married Marilyn J. Tansky on May 29, 1959, in Springfield; she preceded him in death on June 22, 1997.
Leo was employed as a meat cutter for several local grocery stores, including Eisner, Eagle, Jewel, National, Mid-State Meats, and Costantino’s. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Meat Cutters Union. Leo enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets, watching John Wayne movies, the Chicago Cubs, having a good stiff drink, but above all else, spending time with his family
He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Evans.
Leo is survived by his son, Eddie Evans of Maroa, IL; daughters, Melissa (husband, Grant) Luttrell of Riverton and Kelli (husband, Bobby) Jackson of Chestnut, IL; twelve grandchildren, Amber, Elijah, Bobby, Jr., Brandon, Jeremy, Joshua, Henry, Jonathan, Melissa, Rebecca, Alexis, and Sabastion; brother, Art Evans of AZ; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
