Timothy John “Tim / Chico” Hershberger Hicks, 48 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4th, 2020 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.

Tim was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 28th, 1971, son of Donald C. and JoAnne Buell Hicks. Tim graduated from Pulaski County High School in Somerset, Kentucky, he graduated with a Culinary Arts Degree at the Fort Lauderdale Culinary School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and enjoyed a career as an excellent truck driver.

Tim was an out-going person, well-liked by those he knew and never met a stranger. He had an amazing smile, gave great big hugs, and had a big laugh. He was an outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, “trade & barter,” hunting, camping, loved animals (Miss Kittie, Lionel, Cocoa), enjoyed spending time with friends, and was in Boy Scouts as a youth (one step from making “Eagle Scout”). Tim loved his family and was, in turn, loved by a host of family and friends.

Tim was survived by his parents, Donald and JoAnne Hicks of Somerset, Kentucky, Anthony Wayne and Brenda Hershberger of Centerville, Ohio; one daughter from his first
marriage with Mamie Marie Boston Hicks, Brittany Nicole Hicks (and Clinton Ray) Morris of
Somerset, Kentucky; one son from his second marriage with Amanda Muse Hicks-Morgan, McKinley Jay Hicks of Somerset, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Alianna Marie Grace Walker and Reagan Kennedy Morris, both of Somerset, Kentucky; one brother, Richard Wayne (and Donna) Hicks of Somerset, Kentucky; two sisters, Angela Lynn (and Clinton Ray) Bray of Somerset, Kentucky and Molly Patton of Germantown, Ohio; he is affectionally remembered by Brenda Montgomery and Tammy Carnes; and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mamie Marie Hicks; grandparents, John and
Susie Saylor Buell of Harlan County, Kentucky; and grandparents, Harold and Viola Gooch
Hershberger of Mottville, Michigan.

Private services for immediate family members only were held at 5:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, April 8th, 2020 at the Community Harvest Church of God inSomerset, Kentucky with Rev. Larry B. Perkins officiating.

A “Celebration of Life” drive-through service was open to family and friends at 6:00 p.m. cars were ask be at least six feet apart and families must stay in their cars. Facebook Live was also available. A tree was planted in Tim’s memory by his family.

The Morris & Hislope Funeral Home of Science Hill, Kentucky was in charge of the arrangements for Tim.
