On July 2, 1946 in Streator, IL, Ricky Walter Reed was born to Alfred and Mary Wilkerson Reed. He passed away on December 29th, 2015 in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 27 days after battling cancer.

He worked hard through his life earning a Masters degree from college and worked as a Hazardous Waste Analyst for the United States Marshall Service. He also worked for Chem Waste Management.

Mr. Reed and his family moved to Leesville in 1988 where he loved to work in his garden, planting flowers, and to play pool.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia "Pat" Reed of Leesville, LA; son, William Reed of Leesville, LA; daughters, Spring Gonzalez and husband, David, of Colombia, SC and Jamie Montgomery and husband, Bryan, of Springhill, LA; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

His request was that his body be cremated and his family have a private service.
