Daughter of Robert Weldon and Cristie Ann McElroy. She married George Washington Gordon, son of Alexander John Gordon and Delilah Dunnigan.

On the 1860 census of Georgia Militia District #707 in Harris County: G. W. GORDON (30), H. E. (27), M. F. (female, 7), R. W. (male, 5), P. J. (female, 3), and C. I. (female, 1).

On the 1870 census of Harris County (district not stated - served by the Hamilton Post Office), we find George W. GORDON (41) with Harriet E. (37) and Mary F. (17), Robert W. (15), Patrick J. (male, 13), Catherine (11), Helen I. (9), & Alexander J. (7).

On the 1880 census of Georgia Militia District #707 (Lower 19th Land District) are George W. GORDON (51), Harriette E. (47), Hellen I. (19), Alexander J. (17), George W. (14), Saml. A. (12), Crista I. (10), Blanchard B. (8), and Hattie [= Hallie](6), as well as daughter P. Josephine HADLEY (23), a school teacher, with her son Chas. N. HADLEY (4), housekeeper Nancy STALLINGS (40), and Black servants Miles DOZIER (18) and Walter ANDERSON (25).

On the 1900 census of the same GMD are: George W. & Harriet E. are farming; she had borne 12 children, 10 of whom were still living, including those present in the household (all born in Georgia and unmarried): Sam A. (Feb. 1864), Blanchard (Sept. 1871), Hallie L. (dau., Mar. 1874), as well as grandchildren Norman HADLEY(June 1876), Lena EVANS (July 1881), and Gordon J. EVANS (May 1885), and two borarders, Dewitt TAYLOR (May 1881) and Nancy ? STALLINGS (Jan. or June 1826). Next door are Joseph B. (Apr. 1863) and Christia S. (Sept. 1869) ALVERSON, who had been married 10 years; she had born 4 children, 1 of whom was still living and present in the household: Blanch M. (Apr. 1894), as well as two boarders, John WHITLOCK (Feb. 1879) and Robert G. TAYLOR (Feb. 1883). WELDON GORDON, a resident of Harris County, who received a widow's pension on the service of her husband, George W. GORDON, he having served in Company G of the 9th Regiment, Georgia Militia. Harriet & George married 08 NOV 1851 in Harris County, Georgia (proof provided with pension application). She died June 2, 1923.

Informant for her death certificate was J. B. ALBERSON of Hamilton, Georgia.
