Freda Ann Bezner, 75, of Pampa, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Pampa.

Due to the current community regulations regarding large gatherings a private family graveside service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery with her son, Tracy Bezner, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Freda was born September 14, 1944 in Amarillo to Herman J. and Odell Hoff. She was a member of the Class of 1962 of St. Mary’s Academy. She married Lynn Bezner on August 31, 1963 in Amarillo. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2016.

Prior to her family’s move to Pampa, Freda worked first as a seamstress for Levi Strauss & Co. and subsequently as a secretary for private oil & gas producers. After moving with her family to Pampa in 1982, she worked first for the City of Pampa and then transitioned to Gray County, where she worked in the Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace office under Judge Joe Martinez. She loved to work with her hands and was an avid maker of quilts, cross-stitch projects, and knitting. She and her husband Lynn enjoyed traveling, especially in their RV. Her greatest joy was spending time with her dear friends in Pampa and with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Bobby Bezner of Brenham and Tracy Bezner of Columbia, Missouri; her sister, Connie Brown of Fort Worth; three granddaughters, Jonna and Derrick Schisler of Santa Ana, California, Mikayla and Elyssa Bezner, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and grandson, Zachary Bezner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Freda’s special friends, Joanne Scott, Chanda Smith, and Chrys Smith, all of Pampa.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Pampa Meals on Wheels, 302 E Foster Ave, Pampa, Texas 79065.

Viewing will begin at 12:00 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
