Delores grew up and attended school in Tulsa where she graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1956. She was married at the age of 19, to Ronald Marion Rial and from their union came four children. Ronald was in the Air Force so they moved around quite a bit. They lived in Texas, Arkansas, California and Kansas. Ronald was killed in Florida in 1962, while serving in the military during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Delores became a single mom to four small children. The youngest being only 1 month old. She moved back to Oklahoma, shortly after, to be near her family. Two years later on July 6, 1964, she married Ronald Lee Grubbs and they made their home in Tulsa where they had another daughter from that union. Ronnie also became dad to her children and they loved him very much. In 1973, they moved to Locust Grove where they finished raising their children while enjoying a happy and fulfilled life. Ronnie preceded her in death in 2010 while she remained at their home in Locust Grove.
Delores, or “Grandma Dee” as her family affectionately referred to her, was the life of the party. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her home was always the landing spot for family gatherings. She enjoyed sewing, camping, boating, reading, golfing, fishing and gardening; anything outdoors made her happy. She had a bit of an adventurous side to her and even convinced her daughters Rhonda and Theresa to take belly dancing classes with her. Lots of laughing was involved with Grandma Dee! She was a homebody by nature. However, her children loved planning vacations which she reluctantly agreed on but once they reached their destination, she always had fun! She was kind, hardworking, generous and always extended her unconditional love to all. Those qualities have been passed on to her children and grandchildren. Grandma Dee was also a nurturer. She took on the responsibilities by taking care of others. This came easy to her, but she had a harder time letting people take care of her. Her strong will and independent nature was passed down to her family.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Charlie and Cindy Rial of Columbia, Tennessee, her daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Robert Kincade of Athens, Alabama, her daughter and son-in-law Theresa and Tommy Thompson of Mobile, Alabama, her daughter-in-law Rhonda Rial of Pryor, Oklahoma, her daughter-in-law Sarah Johnson of Pryor, Oklahoma, Stepdaughter, Tammy Anderson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, her sister Dixie Huston of San Jose, California, her sister-in-in-law Carolyn Street of Claremore, Oklahom
